Enrollment Terms & Refund Policy
NEW YORK ART STUDIO
By registering for any class, private lesson, workshop, summer intensive, consultation, or educational program offered by New York Art Studio (“School”), the Student and/or Parent/Guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the following Enrollment Terms & Refund Policy.
1. Registration & Administrative Fees
Registration fees, application fees, processing fees, commitment deposits, and other administrative fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances.
2. Business Hours
For purposes of this policy, “business hours” refer to the published office hours of New York Art Studio.
Cancellation, rescheduling, or other notices submitted outside the School’s business hours, including weekends or holidays when the office is closed, are considered received on the next business day.
3. Group Classes & Regular Programs
Students may request a class transfer or instructor change after the first class session, subject to availability and approval by New York Art Studio.
Instructor assignments, schedules, classroom availability, and course offerings are not guaranteed and may change as necessary.
Tuition for group classes and regular programs is non-refundable after the Student’s first scheduled class.
At the sole discretion of New York Art Studio, eligible unused tuition may be converted to studio credit.
Approved studio credit:
(a) Has no cash value.
(b) Is non-refundable.
(c) Is non-transferable.
(d) May only be used by the enrolled Student.
(e) Expires six (6) months from the original registration date unless otherwise approved in writing.
Expired studio credit will not be refunded, transferred, extended, or reinstated.
4. Private Lesson Policy
Private lessons reserve a dedicated instructor time exclusively for the Student and cannot typically be reassigned on short notice.
Private lesson cancellation or rescheduling requests must be received by New York Art Studio at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled lesson.
Requests submitted outside the School’s regular business hours are considered received on the next business day.
Any cancellation, rescheduling request, late arrival, absence, or no-show that does not satisfy the required notice period will be charged for the full reserved lesson time.
Students arriving late will not receive additional lesson time beyond the originally scheduled ending time.
Repeated late cancellations, repeated schedule changes, no-shows, or other scheduling conflicts that materially interfere with instructor scheduling may result in New York Art Studio discontinuing future private lessons.
If the School discontinues future private lessons under this section, any eligible unused prepaid lesson balance will be refunded after deducting all applicable charges under this policy.
Private lesson packages are non-transferable and may only be used by the enrolled Student.
5. Summer Intensive Refund Policy
Summer Intensive programs reserve limited classroom space and instructor scheduling well in advance.
The following cancellation policy applies:
More than four (4) weeks before the registered start date
(a) Full tuition refund.
(b) Registration fees remain non-refundable.
Between two (2) and four (4) weeks before the registered start date
(a) Tuition will be refunded less a $150 administrative cancellation fee.
(b) Registration fees remain non-refundable.
Less than two (2) weeks before the registered start date
(a) No tuition refund.
On or after the Student’s registered program start date
(a) No refunds, credits, transfers, make-up classes, or tuition adjustments will be provided.
Summer Intensive tuition may not be transferred to another session after the Student’s registered start date unless approved in writing by New York Art Studio.
6. Attendance & Make-Up Classes
Students are expected to arrive on time and attend all scheduled classes.
Students who are unable to attend should notify New York Art Studio as early as possible.
No-show absences do not qualify for refunds, tuition credits, reimbursement, or make-up classes unless otherwise approved by the School.
Any approved make-up class must be completed during the Student’s active enrollment period and is subject to classroom availability.
7. Studio Credit
Studio credit:
(a) Has no cash value.
(b) Is non-refundable.
(c) Is non-transferable.
(d) May only be used by the enrolled Student.
(e) Expires six (6) months from the original registration date unless otherwise approved in
writing by New York Art Studio.
Unused or expired studio credit shall not be exchanged for cash.
8. Withdrawal
Students choosing to discontinue enrollment remain responsible for all charges earned under this policy.
Except where specifically stated in this policy or required by law, tuition is non-refundable.
9. School-Initiated Termination
New York Art Studio reserves the right to suspend, discontinue, or terminate enrollment whenever continued participation is determined to be inconsistent with studio operations, instructor scheduling, educational standards, student safety, or the learning environment.
Reasons may include, but are not limited to:
Reasons for suspension or termination may include, but are not limited to:
(a) Repeated late cancellations.
(b) Repeated no-shows.
(c) Repeated violations of School policies.
(d) Disruptive or inappropriate behavior.
(e) Harassment or discrimination toward students, instructors, staff, or visitors.
(f) Abusive, threatening, or intimidating conduct.
(g) Failure to follow instructor or School directions.
(h) Damage to School property or the property of others.
(i) Any conduct that materially interferes with the operation of the School, instructor scheduling, the educational environment, or the safety and well-being of students or staff.
Termination under this section does not entitle the Student to any refund except for any eligible unused prepaid tuition that the School elects to refund or is otherwise required by law.
10. School Operations
New York Art Studio reserves the right to modify instructors, schedules, classroom assignments, curriculum, lesson format, classroom locations, course sequencing, and program structure whenever reasonably necessary due to operational, educational, scheduling, staffing, enrollment, or safety needs.
Such modifications do not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
11. Personal Property
Students are responsible for all personal belongings, artwork, portfolios, supplies, and equipment brought to the School.
New York Art Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or unclaimed property.
Artwork and personal belongings remaining after the Student’s enrollment has ended may be discarded after a reasonable period without liability to the School.
12. Photography & Student Artwork
New York Art Studio may photograph or record classroom activities, student participation, and artwork created during enrollment for educational, promotional, marketing, website, social media, publication, and portfolio purposes.
Students or parents wishing to opt out must notify the School in writing prior to participation.
13. Force Majeure
New York Art Studio shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, cancellations, or closures caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, government actions, public health emergencies, utility failures, instructor illness, labor disputes, or other force majeure events.
In such circumstances, the School may reschedule classes, provide studio credit, offer alternative instruction, or make other reasonable accommodations at its sole discretion.
14. Reservation of Rights
New York Art Studio reserves the right to refuse enrollment, decline future registrations, discontinue services, or deny continued participation whenever reasonably necessary to protect the educational environment, instructor scheduling, studio operations, or the safety and well-being of students and staff.
15. Policy Revisions
New York Art Studio reserves the right to revise or update these Enrollment Terms & Refund Policy at any time. The version in effect on the Student’s registration date shall govern that enrollment unless otherwise required by law.

By submitting registration or payment, the Student and/or Parent/Guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to these Enrollment Terms & Refund Policy.
